Re-imagining futures in STEME
The Deakin STEME research group’s research is intensely practical and aims to support teachers to improve students’ learning in STEM, and their wellbeing. We have worked closely with schools and teachers, and continue to do so, and have been involved in major professional learning initiatives of the Victorian Department of Education and Training. This includes the Primary Mathematics and Science Specialists initiative and a number of secondary STEM initiatives. We are increasingly exploring interdisciplinary approaches to STEM. Based on this research, we offer a range of professional learning opportunities for teachers and schools through the School of Education Professional Learning Hub. These opportunities include working within and across schools, and offer the possibility of credit into our higher degree courses.
