SMSI is an exciting partnership between the Victorian DET and Deakin University that offers a fully funded two-year Graduate Certificate at Deakin. The courses are designed for out of field teachers in Mathematics or Science. The Initiative includes funding to your school to support substantial release time for you to undertake the course. 

 

Each of the Graduate Certificates represents an innovative and research-informed course design focusing on contemporary, evidence based approaches to teaching and learning supported by committed and enthusiastic lecturing staff. There is also a return to study program (CIRCLS) that offers individualised support.

 

Each unit includes four face to face intensives and three after school online seminars where learning is supported by a sophisticated cloud-based platform with additional resources including online discussion forums and a dedicated facebook page.
